Overview

The terraced fields cultivated by the Hani people in Yuanyang vary with the terrain of the mountains and adapt to local conditions. Large fields are reclaimed on gentle slopes, small fields are reclaimed on steep slopes, and even small fields are reclaimed on rocky crevices at the edge of ditches. Therefore, the large ones are several acres, and the small ones are only as big as a dustpan, and there are often tens of thousands of acres on one slope.

The Yuanyang Terraced Fields are large in scale and majestic, stretching across the Honghe Yuanyang, Lvchun and Jinping counties on the south bank of the Honghe River. There are 170,000 mu of terraced fields in Yuanyang County alone, which is the core area of the Honghe Hani Terraced Fields. Throughout the year, terraced fields have their beauty. The Hani people are used to transplanting rice seedlings in June every year, so Yuanyang in summer is full of green onions and rice waves.

In October, with the harvest of crops, the mountains and fields turn golden yellow.

But the most beautiful season to see the terraced fields is always winter, because the terraced fields after water injection will flash a silvery white light, thus highlighting the graceful and winding outline of the terraced fields.

Every winter, it is always misty and misty, with a pastoral scene of ink painting style.

Yuanyang Terraced Fields is the sexiest curve in China. Its beauty cannot be described in words, and photographers need to exhaust their imagination and wisdom to freeze it.
